Congratulations!
Many
congratulations to Jo Yair, the District Mission and Ministry
Co-ordinator, who has been awarded an MA in Mission with merit.
Jo’s dissertation looked at ministry to families with
additional needs in the Methodist Church in Britain. She
has been urged to develop this as a resource for the whole
Church, which is a credit to the work she has done.
The District supported Jo in embarking upon this MA as part of
the development plan for her role. We are delighted for
her.

Rev'd Maurice Wright
Supernumerary
Minister, Shropshire and Marches
We are sorry to bring news of Maurice’s death last Monday.
Maurice contributed one of the prayers on Day 28 of the
Methodist Prayer Handbook (our District’s day). The prayer
asks that we might leave the world in a better place by our
passing through it. This is certainly something Maurice
strove to do. Prayers are invited for Janet, Phillip,
Lesley and the wider family

Launch of 'Let's End Poverty' Campaign
Saturday
14th Oct
Many people will remember the “Make Poverty History” campaign
focusing on global poverty and the Millennium Development Goals.
Sadly, nearly 20 years later, there’s a need for a campaign
to end poverty here in the UK and it’s being launched this Saturday
at 11am.
The Methodist Church is the major player in this campaign but the
aim is to build a broad alliance of people who believe that
poverty is a solvable, avoidable problem – and that continuing to
avoid solving it is a deliberate political choice.
Sadly there are no West Midlands locations featured in the launch
but you can join the Chair in attending online. Book your
free ticket here: https://letsendpoverty.co.uk

The excellent 75-second trailer would be well worth showing in
the church notices over the next two Sundays.
For details, the trailer and to book go to:
